Floyd A. Proper passed away to his eternal rest on Tuesday in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Born in Utica on June 12, 1929, the son of Floyd and Elnora Proper, he attended both Grant Jr. High and North High and was a graduate of Old Forge High School. Floyd worked in the right-of- way department at Niagara Mohawk for 35 years. He was a member and Past Master of the Liverpool-Syracuse Lodge No. 501, F&AM.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Ruth S., and sister, Judy Proper. He is survived by his loving wife, Jane Maher Proper; daughter, Elnora (Zoe) Proper; son, Phillip (Kim) Proper; sisters, Grace McAllister and Bonnie (Joe) Fuller; brothers, John (Irene) Proper, Richard (Irene) Proper; grandchildren, Ian, Heather and Elden; and nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2007, at Liverpool First United Methodist Church, 604 Oswego St., Liverpool. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.

Calling hours will be held 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2007, at the Maurer Funeral Home, 300 Second St., Liverpool, with a Masonic service at 4 p.m.
